Dunkin’s 2024 Winter Vegan Guide

Vegan Options at Dunkin'

This is the first vegan guide we are writing at the start of 2024… Dunkin’s Vegan Winter Guide! What menu items did Dunkin’ bring for the new year? Are any of them vegan-friendly? We’ll share all of the details with you here!

To start the new year, Dunkin’ has brought back a drink that has been very popular for them, the Pink Velvet Macchiato. Along with it comes it’s companion, the Frosty Red Velvet Specialty Donut. The Pancake Wrap-Up Wrap is a returner and new to the state is the White Hazelnut Bark Coffee.

Let’s go through each individually.

Is Dunkin’s Pancake Wrap-Up Vegan?

Dunkin’s Pancake Wrap-Up is a pancake used as a wrap for fillings. The pancake itself is NOT vegan-friendly. Unfortunately, it contains dairy and egg. Even if the pancake had been vegan-friendly, the fillings are not an option either, as they are meat, egg and dairy based.

Love the idea–would be cool if they could make it without animals. And maybe add a vegetable or two… because there are zero.

Is Dunkin’s Frosty Red Velvet Specialty Donut Vegan?

No. Dunkin’s Red Velvet Specialty Donut contains dairy and egg. No surprise here though since Dunkin’ offers NO vegan-friendly donuts in the United States. I specify the United States because they have offered them in other countries, which means it is possible.

Is Dunkin’s Red Velvet Macchiato Vegan?

This one I’m super bummed about because it sounds delicious. The Red Velvet Machiatto has one of my favorite combos of flavors and had the most potential to be vegan-friendly at Dunkin’–red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

Unfortunately, Dunkin’s Red Velvet Macchiato is NOT vegan. The Red Velvet Swirl Syrup contains dairy. No way around it. We wrote a little more about it and gave the closest alternative option if you’re interested, hereOpens in a new tab..

Is Dunkin’s White Hazelnut Bark Coffee Vegan?

Our last hope… and it’s a nope!! 🙁

Dunkin’s White Hazelnut Bark Coffee contains a Toasted White Chocolate Flavored Swirl Syrup that has dairy. This swirl syrup is the main component to give the coffee the white chocolate flavors.

Toasted White Chocolate Flavored Swirl Syrup: Sweetened Condensed Nonfat Milk (Nonfat Milk, Sugar), Sugar,
High Fructose Corn Syrup, Water, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Salt

The closest alternative would be to order a Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee. How you will do this: Order a coffee with your choice of non-dairy milk (oat or almond), mocha swirl and hazelnut flavoring.

In Conclusion…

This is very disappointing to see that not only did Dunkin’ discontinue their coconut milkOpens in a new tab. option but then gave us vegan, plant-based and dairy-free folks NO new options. Very disappointing.
