What Happened To Dunkin’s Coconut Milk? (2024)

Vegan Options at Dunkin'

You may have heard in the last couple of weeks that Dunkin’ was no longer going to be offering coconut milk. We hate to say that as of late December 2023/early January 2024, coconut milk at Dunkin’ is no longer available.

That means that we not only removed coconut milk from our list of non-dairy milk options, on our Vegan Guide for Dunkin’, but also the delicious refreshers (Mango Pineapple and Strawberry Dragonfruit) that contained coconut milk.

Honestly, the refreshers with coconut milk were our favorite way to order them–so that’s a bummer. To be clear… you can still order the refreshers; just without the coconut milk.

Why Did Dunkin’ Remove Coconut Milk From Their Menu?

From our research, coconut milk was Dunkin’s lowest selling non-dairy milk option.

According to BnnOpens in a new tab., “…this decision follows the trend of declining popularity for coconut milk, with only 1% of Dunkin’s customers opting for it, compared to 5-7% for almond milk and 3% for oat milk.”

If it’s not selling well, I’m sure that has to make the most sense from a business standpoint to discontinue it.

How Have People Reacted to Dunkin’ Discontinuing Coconut Milk?

The comments that stuck out were, like me, the ones that said they only ordered the refreshers with the coconut milk because it’s too sweet otherwise or that Dunkin’ will no longer offer a “no added sugar” non-dairy alternative.

I read through the ingredients and between the oatmilk and almondmilk, only the almondmilk contains added sugar.

The ingredients for the oatmilk are:

Oatmilk: Oatmilk (Filtered Water, Oats), Sunflower Oil, Calcium Carbonate, Dipotassium Phosphate (Stabilizer), Guar Gum, Sea Salt, Sunflower Lecithin, Gellan Gum, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D2, Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) and Vitamin B12.

The ingredients for the almondmilk are:

Vanilla Flavored AlmondMilk: AlmondMilk (Filtered Water, Almonds), Cane Sugar, Calcium Carbonate, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Potassium Citrate, Sunflower Lecithin, Gellan Gum, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D2, D-Alpha Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E).

A friend of mine shared her disappointment because not only does she have a gluten & dairy allergy but she has a sensitivity to almonds. Coconut milk is her only option which means she is no longer able to visit Dunkin’. She did joke that she could bring her own milk if she really wanted that Dunkin’ taste.

Maybe some people like Dunkin’ that much but I doubt that will actually happen.

The majority of comments though were from people who work at Dunkin’. All of them mentioned how little they sell coconut milk and understood why it would be discontinued.

What Non-Dairy Milk Is Available At Dunkin’ In 2024?

With the discontinuation of coconut milk to begin 2024 at Dunkin’, you still have 2 alternatives to choose from:

  • oat milk
  • almond milk
