What Can I Order Vegan On Taco Bell’s Cravings Value Menu?

Vegan Options at Taco Bell

Have you heard? This week (January 8, 2024), Taco Bell debuted their new revitalized Cravings Value Menu. We love a value but as vegans, we have to ask, are any of the menu items vegan or plant-based?

Taco Bell’s Cravings Value Menu now consists of eight items; the Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burrito, Beefy Melt Burrito, Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito, Fiesta Veggie Burrito, Cheesy Roll Up, Cinnamon Twists and a Cravings Value Classic Combo.

To start, I want to point out that the ONLY vegan as-is menu item on the Cravings Value Menu are the Cinnamon Twists.

Now, let’s see if you can modify the rest. I’ll also mention if it even makes sense to modify it.

Which Cravings Value Menu Items Can Be Made Vegan?

The two that we would not recommend modifying are the Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burrito and the Cheesy Roll Up. By the time you make all of the mods for the Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burrito, you are going to get a better value out of one of the other burritos on the menu. And as for the Cheesy Roll Up, it’s just a tortilla with cheese in it.

The other five menu items on Taco Bell’s Cravings Value Menu can be modified to be vegan/plant-based.

Side note: You will see that most of the menu items will need to be ordered Fresco Style. If you are not familiar with this, what it means is that Taco Bell will remove ALL dairy products. So if you see any sauces like chipotle sauce, any cheese or sour cream, these will be removed by ordering Fresco Style.

In the past, if the menu item also included guacamole, the guac would be removed as well. This is no longer the case. You will see one burrito on this list that comes with guacamole and if you order it Fresco Style, the guacamole will not be removed. I’m sure many of you long-time Taco Bell vegan fans are happy to hear this!

The prices you will see are what the cost is at our local Taco Bell in Georgia. Is it possible that other areas/states vary? Possibly. Check with your location.

Let’s get into it…

Spicy Potato Soft Taco ($1.00)

The Spicy Soft Taco comes with potatoes, chipotle sauce, cheese and lettuce on a soft taco tortilla.

Here’s how you will order it:

  • Spicy Potato Soft Taco. ORDER Fresco Style. The modified Spicy Potato Soft Taco will have Taco Bell’s potatoes, lettuce and tomato.

Beefy Melt Burrito ($2.29)

The Beefy Melt Burrito, yes comes with animal beef, seasoned rice, cheese, nacho cheese sauce, sour cream and fiesta strips.

To make it vegan/plant-based:

  • Beefy Melt Burrito. SWAP the beef for black beans or refried beans then ORDER Fresco Style. You will have a burrito with beans, rice, tomato and fiesta strips.

“Make it Grilled” is also an option. This means Taco Bell will make your burrito, then grill it flat.

Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito ($1.00)

Taco Bell’s Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito comes with beans, creamy jalapeno sauce, nacho cheese sauce and seasoned rice.

Here’s how to order it:

  • Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito. ORDER Fresco Style. Your burrito will have beans, seasoned rice and tomato.

“Make it Grilled” is an option.

Fiesta Veggie Burrito ($2.29)

The Fiesta Veggie Burrito is very good, I have to say! It comes with black beans, chipotle sauce, tomatoes, cheese, seasoned rice, sour cream, guacamole and fiesta strips.

To make this yummy burrito vegan/plant-based:

  • Fiesta Veggie Burrito. ORDER Fresco Style. Your burrito will have black beans, tomatoes, seasoned rice and fiesta strips.

“Make it Grilled” is an option and is how I ordered it.
