If you’re walking through the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans and you’re trying to figure out what is available vegan (and where you can find it) then you are in the right place! And if you’re not even at the airport yet and you’re here planning ahead then bonus points for you.
We’ve taken the time to scour through the New Orleans (MSY) Airport’s Dining Guide to find everything vegan-friendly in the airport and where everything is located.
We are also very fortunate that we have our VeggL community that often reaches out to us to let us know about vegan options that they find in airports as well.
So, without further ado, here is your Vegan Guide to the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
Vegan Options at Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport
Many chain location names are clickable and will take you to the complete vegan guide for that restaurant. Be aware that airport location menus can vary though.
After Security
There are a number of dining locations just after the security checkpoint. Some just before the B Gates (if you make a right after the security checkpoint) and some just before the C Gates (make a right after the checkpoint)
Panda Express
(By B Gates)
Panda Express is a good American Chinese fast food choice. If cross-contamination is not a concern for you, their Chow Mein Noodles, Super Greens, Steamed Rice and/or Vegetable Spring Rolls are great options.
Starbucks
(By B Gates)
With the many options of non-dairy milk (oat, almond, soy, coconut) available at all Starbucks, there is almost an infinite number of vegan drinks you can order.
On the food side, you have a couple of options including Bagels (plain or everything–ask if they have guacamole or a peanut butter packet to top it with) or Oatmeal. Airport locations may be limited so you can also check the ingredients on their snacks.
FYI: There is another Starbucks location by Gate B11.
Smoothie King
(By B Gates)
Right beside Starbucks is probably the most vegan-friendly location (that we’re aware of) inside the New Orleans Airport – Smoothie King.
Smoothie King has tons of, clearly labeled, plant-based smoothies right on their menu with no modifications needed. If you want a suggestion, here are a few of our favorites:
- Vegan Dark Chocolate Banana
- Veggie Lemon Ginger Spinach
- MangoFest
- Vegan Mixed Berry
Chick-fil-A
(By C Gates)
You can always go with the Waffle Fries if you’re just looking for a quick snack to hold you over to your destination. If you’re wanting something a bit (okay, a lot) more healthy then the Kale Crunch Side is vegan as well.
B Gates
City Greens (Gate B8)
A VeggL user let us know City Greens has a good choice of options for you including building your own vegan salad. Thank you for this info, Matthew!
Another VeggL user let us know the Lemon Basil Vinaigrette and Roasted Tomato Vinaigrette should be the vegan-friendly dressings. Thank you, Armin!
The dining page says they serve, “gourmet soups, salads, wraps, and pressed juice – perfect for travelers who want to eat healthy on the go.”
Starbucks
(Gate B10)
With the many options of non-dairy milk (oat, almond, soy, coconut) available at all Starbucks, there is almost an infinite number of vegan drinks you can order.
On the food side, you have a couple of options including Bagels (plain or everything–ask if they have guacamole or a peanut butter packet to top it with) or Oatmeal. Airport locations may be limited so you can also check the ingredients on their snacks.
C Gates
Peet’s Coffee (Gate C1)
Peet’s locations in the airport can vary on whether they offer their 100% plant-based breakfast sandwich. A VeggL user let us know this specific location but, unfortunately, does not. Thank you for this info, John!
You will find non-dairy milk for your coffee though.
Auntie Anne’s (Gate C2)
Auntie Anne’s pretzels can be ordered vegan IF they are willing to make yours without the butter that is added BEFORE they go into the oven. This isn’t just a VeggL hack, it’s something that they themselves promote on their website.
Having said that, we’ve had mixed luck trying to do this ourselves. Some locations are willing to do it and some won’t.
Best case scenario you’ll have a bit of a wait because your pretzel will need to be made and cooked. Worst case scenario you get your hopes up for one of those delicious-smelling pretzels and you end up getting let down.
Starbucks
(Gate C8)
With the many options of non-dairy milk (oat, almond, soy, coconut) available at all Starbucks, there is almost an infinite number of vegan drinks you can order.
On the food side, you have a couple of options including Bagels (plain or everything–ask if they have guacamole or a peanut butter packet to top it with) or Oatmeal. Airport locations may be limited so you can also check the ingredients on their snacks.
