Vegan Options at Chili’s (Updated 2023)

Vegan Options at Chili's

The vegan options at Chili’s do not include a lot of main dishes, but there are quite a few sides you can put together or ask for the Black Bean & Veggie Fajitas with modifications.

Most disappointing is that the Black Bean Patty contains egg and milk which removes it as an easy vegan option.

You can always go with a salad, also with modifications, or stick to the appetizers. Their Bottomless Chips & Salsa are some of our favorites but we also hear Chili’s has great Fried Pickles!

Chili’s Vegan FAQ

Is Chili’s Black Bean Burger Vegan?

No! Chili’s black bean burger is NOT vegan. It contains egg and dairy.

Are Chili’s Fajita Veggies (peppers and onions) Vegan?

Yes… with modifications. Chili’s fajita veggies (peppers and onions) are pre-cooked in a butter-flavored oil that is made with soybean oil–no dairy. When served, the fajita veggies are topped with a chipotle butter that contains dairy. You must order yours without this butter topping.

Ryan’s Pick: I went with the Chips & Guacamole which was good, but then when it came to a main dish I just went with Flour Tortillas, Mexican Rice & Beans with a side of salsa. It was fine.

Nothing great, but not what I necessarily want to be paying money for at a restaurant.

Jen’s Pick: I got the same as Ryan. I don’t know what is special about Chili’s Chips & Salsa but they’re good! Maybe it’s a nostalgic thing from when I was young.
