Kauffman Stadium Vegan Guide 2021 (Kansas City Royals)

Kansas City Royals Vegan

The vegan options at Kauffman Stadium are probably better than you think. You can get a Beyond Burger or Brat from multiple locations and even a meatless Cheesesteak! We outline each option and where you can find it inside the Stadium.

We also looked up the policies you’ll want to know if you’re thinking about bringing your own food to a Royals’ game. We share them just below.

Finally, we looked around Kauffman Stadium and found a couple places nearby that you can grab a (vegan) bite to eat before or after the game.

Can I Bring Food Into Kauffman Stadium?

Here are a few policies you should be aware of if you’re thinking about bringing your own food to the stadium:

Bag Policy (as of 8/19/21)

Bag Policy is a little confusing to be honest. We found both of these ‘policies’ within the Royals Information Guide:

No bags: All bags will be prohibited inside the stadium to minimize contact in the security screening process. Fans who have medical needs or require the use of an infant bag with an infant or toddler may be allowed to have their bags checked at designated stations at each gate. Bags should be clear or single compartment for safer inspection.

However, we also found this:

As a result of COVID-19, precautions will be taken to minimize contact between gameday employees and guests. Each fan may carry one clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag no larger than a 12 x 12 x 6 inches or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar). Additionally, fans may also carry a small clutch no larger than 9” x 5” that is subject to search. Exceptions may be made for medical reason or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and young children.

This second paragraph is more in line with what we typically see at parks, but you may want to contact the stadium ahead of time just to make sure. (Main Line: 816-921-8000)

Allowed and Prohibited Items (as of 8/19/21)

Water and sports drinks containing electrolytes in unopened plastic bottles (1-liter or smaller) will be allowed to enter the stadium.

No outside food including sunflower seeds (Additional considerations may be made for those with dietary concerns and infants)

Vegan Options Near Kauffman Stadium

Looking to grab a bite to eat before or after the game? Unfortunately we couldn’t really find a whole lot really close to the stadium.

A large majority of the vegan-friendly restaurants in the area appear to be about a 20 minute drive west of the stadium. Here are a few of the ones we found. Feel free to start your search here or start your own discovery.

Gigi’s Vegan + Wellness Cafe

1103 Westport Rd, Kansas City, MO 64111

Cafe Gratitude Kansas City

333 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108

Yard House*

1300 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64105

*Yard House serves both vegan and non-vegan food. While local 100% vegan restaurants are always our first choice, sometimes it’s easier to get non-vegan friends and family on board with a location when the menu is more “diversified”.
