The vegan options at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, are looking pretty good for the 2023 season. You can find vegan burgers, sandwiches, a vegan hibachi bowl, a wrap and plenty of snack type items.
Below that, we share with you what Ford Field’s bag policies are along with if you can bring food or beverages into the stadium… if you had thought of going that route.
And lastly, there are a couple of restaurants with vegan options, close by, should you want to eat out before or after the game.

Can I Bring Food Into Ford Field?
If you’re contemplating bringing your own food to the game, here are a few policies at Ford Field that you need to be aware of.
Bag Policy (as of 8.25.23)
In accordance with NFL Security Guidelines, the only bags, packages, or containers permitted to be carried by fans as the approach the stadium are as follows:
- A bag that is clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and does not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (ziploc bag or similar)
- Small clutch bag, camera and binocular cases, not exceeding 4.5″ x 6.5″, with or without a hand or strap
Exceptions may be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection
Food & Beverage (as of 8.25.23)
Not Permitted:
- Food, beverages or liquids (cans, bottles, boxes, flasks, etc.)

We also took a look around the stadium to find a few good spots to grab a bite to eat near Ford Field. This is not meant to be a complete list of all vegan restaurants in the area, just a few places that caught our attention.
Always check hours and days open when making your plans.
Chickp Detroit
110 Clifford St, Detroit, MI 48226
Less than a half a mile from the stadium, you can find a highly-reviewed falafel wrap. This is an omni restaurant so just be aware of that but it is walkable.
Buffalo Wild Wings
1218 Randolph Street, Detroit, MI 48226
Buffalo Wild Wings, another walkable restaurant to the stadium… less than a 1/2 mile away too. You might be surprised at the vegan options BDubs has. Check our vegan guide for them to see what is most current and how to modify it.
