Are Qdoba’s Post-Workout Bowls Vegan-Friendly?

Vegan Options at Qdoba

Have you noticed that Qdoba now offers, “post-workout bowls?” We’re not here to judge what the bowl types are but to answer whether any of them are vegan or can be made vegan-friendly.

What Are Qdoba’s Post-Workout Bowls?

Qdoba has curated 5 bowls that could be great after a workout:

  • Double Protein Bowl
  • Keto Bowl
  • Essential Macro Bowl
  • Powder Macro Bowl
  • Fajita Veggie Bowl

Each bowl is noted below. We share if the bowl is vegan as-is and then how to order it if it makes sense to make it vegan.

Is Qdoba’s Protein Bowl Vegan?

Qdoba starts the Post-Workout Protein Bowl with two animal-based proteins. The answer is no, this bowl is not vegan nor vegan-friendly, as-is.

If your location offers Impossible Meat, use the following information to veganize it:

  • Order a bowl with a double portion of Impossible Meat, black beans, sautéed fajita veggies, crisp lettuce, pico de gallo, salsa verde and guacamole.
  • If not, order a bowl with a double portion of beans (maybe ask for black and pinto beans), sautéed fajita veggies, crisp lettuce, pico de gallo, salsa verde and guacamole.

Is Qdoba’s Keto Bowl Vegan?

No. Qdoba’s Keto Bowl gives options of animal-based meat to start the bowl. Vegan as-is? No.

If your location offers Impossible Meat:

  • Order a bowl with Impossible Meat, pico de gallo, salsa verde, guacamole and romaine lettuce.

If not, we do not suggest ordering a Keto Bowl vegan at Qdoba. Or advise you to research Qdoba’s nutrition informationOpens in a new tab. so you can make an informed decision based on what your keto needs are.

Is Qdoba’s Essential Macro Bowl Vegan?

No. Qdoba’s Essential Macro Bowl starts with cow steak, making it not vegan-friendly from the get-go. Honestly, we were surprised that a macro bowl even has animal ingredients since most macro bowls I have ever seen, are plant-based, including the “protein” portion of it. And at least has beans. Qdoba’s Essential Macro Bowl has no beans in their curated version.

If your location offers Impossible Meat:

  • Order a bowl with a double order of Impossible Meat, sautéed fajita veggies, crisp lettuce, freshly made pico de gallo, pickled red onions and Citrus Lime Vinaigrette.
  • If not, order a bowl with a double portion of beans (choose black, pinto or both), sautéed fajita veggies, crisp lettuce, freshly made pico de gallo, pickled red onions and Citrus Lime Vinaigrette.

Is Qdoba’s Power Macro Bowl Vegan?

No, again. Qdoba’s Power Macro Bowl starts with pig pork, making it not vegan.

If your location offers Impossible Meat:

  • Order a bowl with a double order of Impossible Meat, black beans, brown rice, lettuce, freshly made pico de gallo, salsa verde and tortilla strips.
  • If not, order a bowl with a double portion of beans (black, pinto or both), brown rice, lettuce, freshly made pico de gallo, salsa verde and tortilla strips.

Is Qdoba’s Fajita Veggie Bowl Vegan?

Vegan Options at Qdoba
Qdoba’s Post-Workout Fajita Veggie Bowl. 1/2024

Yes!! Qdoba’s Fajita Veggie Bowl is vegan as-is. Order a bowl with:

Your choice of:

  • Cilantro Lime or Seasoned Brown Rice
  • Black or Pinto Beans. I like to get a mix of both.

and:

  • Guacamole
  • Fajita Veggies
  • Fresh Pico De Gallo (mild)
  • Chile Corn Salsa (mild)
  • Salsa Verde (medium)

What Did We Learn…

We learned that it would be nice if Impossible Meat could be an option at all Qdoba’s, not only at a select few. That way, a few of these bowls could have had a substitution and would have been much more vegan-friendly.

We learned that Qdoba’s post-workout bowls are NOT very vegan-friendly. But we appreciate that they do offer the vegan as-is Fajita Veggie Bowl.
