Unfortunately, repeated attempts to acquire the vegan options at Guaranteed Rate Field for the 2022 baseball season have not produced any results (at least not yet).
If you know something we don’t, please reach out and let us know so that we can improve this guide for the VeggL community.
In the meantime, we have the policies you should know if you’re thinking about bringing your own food with you the game and a recommendation of a good place to grab vegan food near the park.
Vegan Options at Guaranteed Rate Field
Like we stated at the top of this guide, we’ve not been able to get any information either directly from Guaranteed Rate Field staff or from their website on what the vegan options at the park are.
This doesn’t mean there aren’t any, we just don’t know what they are yet.
Can I Bring Food Into Guaranteed Rate Field?
If you’re thinking about bringing your own food into the ballpark, here are a few Guaranteed Rate Field policies that you want to be aware of. These were taken directly from the Chicago White Sox Information Guide
Bag Policy (as of 4/9/22)
No bags are allowed into the ballpark. Exceptions will be made for medical bags, small clutch purses (under 9″x5″x2″ in size) and diaper bags when an infant is present.
Bottles/Cans (as of 4/9/22)
Neither bottles nor cans are allowed to be carried into the ballpark. Guests are permitted to bring in plastic bottles of pure water under one liter in size that are still sealed.
Carry-in Items (as of 4/9/22)
Guests are permitted to bring food items into the park provided they are in a clear plastic bag which will fit underneath their seat. Guests are permitted to bring in plastic bottles of pure water under one liter in size that are still sealed.
No other bags are allowed into the ballpark. Exceptions will be made for medical bags, small clutch purses (under 9″x5″x2″ in size) and diaper bags when an infant is present. See Bag Checking Facility.
Weapons, alcohol, soda, bottles, cans, hard or liquid containers of any type are not allowed to be carried into the ballpark.
Vegan Options Near Guaranteed Rate Field
We also did a bit researching looking at the area just around the field. We were looking for a couple places close to the stadium that would make good spots to grab a bite to eat before or after the game.
The problem we ran into is there isn’t a lot of vegan choices that are what we would consider close to the stadium. There are a few places south of the stadium near the University of Chicago, but they are close to a 15 minute drive.
Here is the best option we found close to the field:
Veggie House is a Chinese restaurant serving up vegetarian and vegan dishes. Looking through their menu, I wish it was a little more clear exactly which dishes were which, but there does seem to be plenty of vegan options available. Just make sure to check with your server when ordering.
