Vegan Options at Ike’s Love and Sandwiches (Updated 2024)

Known for messy sandwiches, dirty sauce and their famous sandwich names, Ike’s also brings plenty of vegan options to their menu. In fact, PETA had given their vegan meatballs an award for, “the best vegan meatballs in America.” 

When visiting Ike’s, they have over 800 sandwiches (not all vegan of course), so to keep it simple, we chose to add the sandwiches they have listed on their website.

All Sandwiches are served hot with dirty sauce, lettuce and tomato.

-> Specify Vegan on all sandwich orders to ensure Vegan Cheese and Vegan Dirty Sauce is used.

The pesto on #61 and red pesto on #265 are NOT vegan. Both contain dairy.

Are Zapp’s Salt & Vinegar Chips Vegan?

No. Zapp’s Salt & Vinegar Chips contain dairy/milk.  

Does Ike’s Wheat Bread contain honey?

According to their current ingredients list, no Ike’s Wheat Bread does not contain honey. “Wheat Flour Enriched (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid, malted barley flour), Water, Sugar, Contains 2% or less of: Ascorbic Acid, Calcium Propionate, Can.” 

Is Ike’s Wasabi Mayo Vegan?

Yes! According to their nutritional guide, their Wasabi Mayo is made with Veganaise. 

Is Ike’s Sandwiches Purple Slaw Vegan?

According to Ike’s nutritional guide, the Purple Slaw is made by combining cabbage with their Vegan Dirty Sauce, seasonings & spices. 

Is the Pesto at Ike’s Love & Sandwiches Vegan?

Technically Ike’s offers two different pesto’s; a pesto and red pesto. Neither are vegan. Both contain dairy.

If you are ordering one of the vegan-friendly sandwiches that has one of the pesto’s, order yours vegan. They will SUB the Dirty Sauce with Vegan Dirty Sauce and SUB cow cheese with vegan cheese. They SHOULD also remove the pesto. You could verify that they do when ordering.
