Are Dunkin’s New Valentines Day Menu Options Vegan? (2023)

Vegan Options at Dunkin'

How sweet is it that Dunkin’ has created a Valentine’s Day menu and even sweeter that we have veganized it for you!

What Is On Dunkin’s Valentine’s Day Menu?

These are the menu items that are being highlighted by Dunkin for Valentine’s Day, 2023. Most are new and one is already on the menu. It starts pink then turns a bit of a light lavender color. Matches the holiday enough. 🙂

Drinks

  • Cocoa Mocha Signature Latte
  • Strawberry Dragonfruit Dunkin’ Refresher
  • Brownie Batter Swirl Signature Latte

Food

  • Brownie Batter Donut
  • Cupid’s Choice Donut

What is NOT an option?

…because it cannot be modified.

Both of the donuts are not and cannot be made vegan.

The Brownie Batter Donut contains eggs and milk. Same with the Cupid’s Choice Donut.

What IS Vegan?

…or can be modified.

The Strawberry Dragonfruit Dunkin’ Refresher is vegan as-is! The Cocoa Mocha Signature Latte and Brownie Batter Swirl Signature Latte can be modified. I mean… really, you just need to order a different drink. lol

Let’s go thru what you can do additional with the Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher and how to order the Cocoa Mocha Latte and Brownie Batter Swirl Signature Latte vegan.

After that, I’ll go thru a few other options that WE think would be good for Valentine’s Day as well. One of them is EXTRA yummy and fun! Possibly a combo you had not thought of when going to Dunkin’.

I’m going to start by giving you a cheat sheet for ordering at Dunkin’.

You have 3 non-dairy milks you can choose from:

  • Oat
  • Almond
  • Coconut

And 3 cup sizes:

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large

Now onto the Valentine’s Day Drinks…

Cocoa Mocha Signature Latte, Iced or Hot

The Cocoa Mocha Signature Latte is NOT vegan as-is. In its original form, it has cow milk, whipped cream and a topping that contains dairy.

But the good news is, you can make it dairy-free! I mean, this is one that you’re going to just order a different drink. 😉

HOW TO ORDER VEGAN: Order an iced or hot Mocha Latte with your choice of non-dairy milk (oat, almond or coconut).

The ingredients list will look like this… Non-Dairy Milk of your choice +

Brewed Espresso Coffee; Mocha Flavored Swirl Syrup: High Fructose Corn Syrup, Sugar, Water, Cocoa processed with alkali, Natural Flavor, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Citric Acid, Salt.

Vegan Options at Dunkin'
Dunkin’s Strawberry Dragonfruit Coconut Refresher

Strawberry Dragonfruit (Coconut) Refresher

The Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher is vegan as-is! It is perfect just the way it is or you can add coconut milk to mellow out the sweetness a little bit and make it creamy.

Even though it just looks like fruit juice, be aware, it is made with brewed green tea which gives it a little bit of caffeine.

Here are the ingredients for the Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher:

Brewed Green Tea; Strawberry Dragonfruit Flavored Concentrate: Water, Sugar, Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, Green Tea Extract, Vegetable Juice for Color, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), D-Calcium Pantothenate (Vitamin B5), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12).

We prefer this one WITH coconut milk. It is fruity, creamy and very sweet. So be prepared for that.

Brownie Batter Swirl Signature Latte, Iced or Hot

The Brownie Batter Swirl Signature Latte is NOT vegan as-is. In its original form, it has cow milk, whipped cream and a topping that contains confectioner’s glaze.

(If you are not aware, confectioner’s glaze is made by an insect, the female lac beetle.)

Back to the Brownie Batter Swirl… you can make this drink vegan!

HOW TO ORDER VEGAN: Order an iced or hot Latte with Brownie Batter Swirl and your choice of non-dairy milk (oat, almond or coconut).

The ingredients list will look like this… Non-Dairy Milk of your choice +

Brewed Espresso Coffee; Brownie Batter Flavored Swirl Syrup: High Fructose Corn Syrup, Water, Sugar, Cocoa processed with alkali, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Salt, Citric Acid

Ryan’s go-to is always a Mocha flavored coffee and even though this is along those same lines, it’s still different enough and really does taste like brownie batter. We were impressed and highly recommend it.

Other Drinks We Think Should Be On The Valentine’s Day Menu

Brownie Batter Swirl Raspberry Latte, Iced or Hot

One of the 3 drinks we bought this morning was a Mocha Swirl with Raspberry Flavor Latte & Oat Milk.

If you like a pronounced chocolate flavor, this is good. If you prefer a little smoother chocolate taste with raspberry, I would actually suggest a Brownie Batter Swirl Raspberry Latte. We made this one up so it’s not on their menu…

HOW TO ORDER: Order an iced or hot Latte with Brownie Batter Swirl with a Raspberry Flavor shot and your choice of non-dairy milk (oat, almond or coconut).

I have been a big fan of Kroger’s Simple Truth Dairy Free Chocolate Raspberry Frozen Dessert BarsOpens in a new tab. lately and this drink reminds me so much of it.

Vanilla Almondmilk Latte, Iced or Hot

A Vanilla Almondmilk Latte can be ordered as-is. Sweet vanilla is always so calming to me–nothing too strong in the flavors.

Please be aware though, Dunkin’ offers different vanilla flavors for their drinks. This one contains a natural vanilla flavoring; however, they also have a French Vanilla Swirl and a Vanilla Bean flavored syrup. The vanilla flavoring is considered “accidentally vegan” whereas the French Vanilla Swirl and Vanilla Bean flavored syrup (in Dunkin’s Vanilla Bean Coolatta) contains dairy.

With all that said, we suggest ordering this one exactly how it’s worded so there is no confusion.

The Vanilla Almondmilk Latte contains the following ingredients:

Vanilla Flavored Almondmilk: Almondmilk (Filtered Water, Almonds), Cane Sugar, Calcium Carbonate, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Potassium Citrate, Sunflower Lecithin, Gellan Gum, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D2, D-Alpha Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E); Brewed Espresso Coffee; Vanilla Flavor: Natural Flavors, Fruit Juice for Color.

Brown Butter Toffee Latte, Iced or Hot

The Brown Butter Toffee flavor shot was added to Dunkin’s 2022/2023 Winter menu and it’s still here!

HOW TO ORDER VEGAN: Order an iced or hot Latte with Brown Butter Toffee syrup and your choice of non-dairy milk (oat, almond or coconut).

The ingredients list will look like this… Non-Dairy Milk of your choice +

Brewed Espresso Coffee; Brown Butter Toffee Flavored Syrup: Brown Sugar, Water, Invert Sugar, Molasses, Natural Flavor, Contains 2% or less of: Potassium Sorbate (Preservative)

Food

Dunkin' Avocado Toast with Roasted Tomatoes
Dunkin’ Avocado Toast with Roasted Tomatoes

Since Dunkin’ is NOT offering any new vegan-friendly food options, here are our your options:

  • Avocado Toast
  • Avocado & Roasted Tomato Toast … comes with sourdough bread, avocado spread, roasted tomatoes, and everything bagel topping.
  • Bacon Avocado Tomato Sandwich. Order with NO bacon … this is for when you want the Avocado & Roasted Tomato Toast with a little extra bulk from the 2 slices of bread. –> ps: at our location, this is only $.50 more than the Avocado & Roasted Tomato Toast)
  • Bagels: Plain, Cinnamon Raisin, Everything & Sesame. Order with NO cream cheese. It should not automatically come with it on but we have received info that some locations automatically add it.
  • English Muffin
  • Hash Browns

In Conclusion…

We highly recommend the Brownie Batter Swirl on its own or with Raspberry Flavoring. And if you are in the mood for a refreshingly fruity, creamy sweet drink, order the Strawberry Dragonfruit Coconut Refresher.

Want to have even more fun?  Order the refresher and one of the mocha-flavored drinks (mocha or brownie batter) and go back & forth between the two.

Strawberries and chocolate are always a delicious Valentine’s day treat.

You can visit our Dunkin’ Vegan Guide for a complete list of drinks and food you can order.

The world could use more love… be kind to those around you.
