Are you currently looking for vegan options in the Chicago Midway (MDW) International Airport? We have you covered!
In our Chicago Midway vegan airport guide, sections are broken down by terminal. We provide every vegan-friendly restaurant/vendor we have found to be available, where you can locate them (typically gate number) and a bit of info on what you might find there.
Many chain location names are clickable and will take you to the complete vegan guide we have created for that restaurant.
Finally, we found quite a few local restaurants inside the airport, but couldn’t determine which, if any, offered good vegan options. If you know of any that we’re missing or if you see any updates need to made, please reach out so we can improve for the next vegan airport traveler.
Vegan Options at Chicago Midway Airport
Many chain location names are clickable and will take you to the complete vegan guide for that restaurant. Be aware that airport location menus can vary though.
Central Market
Big Bowl
We have not been able to confirm the vegan options at Big Bowl but received information from a couple of VeggL’ers. For breakfast, you should be able to order jasmine rice and a side of potatoes.
We had been told that the tofu bowl might be vegan and recommended you ask if it is before ordering. We finally learned that this bowl is NOT a vegan option. A 2nd VeggL user asked and was told it contains shellfish and egg.
Thank you for the info, Autumn & Barret!
Garret Popcorn Shops
The Plain and Buttery popcorn options are labeled as vegan on the Garret Popcorn Shops website.
Dunkin’
While there are no vegan donuts, Dunkin’ still offers a few solid vegan options, including Everything and Cinnamon Raisin bagels, hash browns and avocado toast. They also provide almond and oat milk at no extra charge.
Concourse A Food Hall
Arami (Food Hall)
We have learned from a kind VeggL user, Emily, that Arami offers a Vegan Sushi Roll and Spicy Tofu Bowl. Let them know you would like a vegan option; it is possible that they may have an additional roll they could make outside of their Vegan Sushi Roll.
Terminal A
Nuts on Clark (Gate A5)
Nuts on Clark is a popcorn vending machine recommended as having vegan options from the airport itself. We could not find a menu to verify options so maybe it says on it.
Einstein Bros Bagels (Gate A7)
Vegan-friendly bagels. Ask if they have avocado or a guac. If so, you might be able to order a bagel sandwich with veggies. Ask to verify which bagels they have that are vegan-friendly.
Cielo Cantina (A7)
Ceileo Cantina offers chips & salsa, guacemomal or pico de gallo. We have not confirmed if the chips are fried in vegetable-type oil or if they share a fryer with other animal products. We suggest asking. You could also ask if their beans & rice are vegan-friendly. You may be able to get a bean & veggie bowl from here.
If you do, please let us know so we can keep this guide updated for the next vegan traveler.
Harry Caray’s (Gate A9)
Harry Caray’s notates their vegan options on the menu. They have hummus with veggies & pita, steel-cut oatmeal, breakfast potatoes, nine-grain toast and berries.
Big Shoulders Coffee (Gate A14)
Coffee + non-dairy milk options. Verify which ones when ordering.
Terminal B
Hubbard Inn (Gate B7)
The airport mentions Hubbard Inn as having vegan options; however, none of their menu items are labeled as such. You should be able to modify a salad or maybe even make a veggie sandwich. They offer sourdough bread. We suggest asking prior to ordering.
Camden Food (Gate B20)
Camden Food does not have any vegan-specific food items; however, after looking over their menu we think you may be able to create a veggie sandwich.
They offer sourdough and ciabatta bread, veggies/toppings (cucumber, spinach, cilantro, pickles, avocado, tomato) and a balsamic glaze. Verify that these are all animal-free options prior to ordering though.
Please let us know if you happen to get more info so we can keep this updated for the next vegan traveler.
Dunkin’ Express (Gates B18)
While there are no vegan donuts, Dunkin’ still offers a few solid vegan options, including Everything and Cinnamon Raisin bagels, hash browns and avocado toast. They also provide almond and oat milk at no extra charge.
