Can I Bring Food Into Prudential Center?

Thinking about bringing your own food to the game (or concert)? Here are a few policies at Prudential Center that you need to be aware of. We pulled these directly from Prudential Center’s A to Z Guide.

Bag Policy (as of 10.20.23)

  • Bags up to 12″ x 14″ are permitted inside Prudential Center.
  • Anything larger, including backpacks, are not permitted, with the exception of childcare or medical bags.
  • Permissible larger bags will be X-rayed.
  • All bags are subject to search by Prudential Center security team members at each point of entry.
  • Bags that do not meet these expectations must be returned to the guest’s vehicle or stored in a Prudential Center-supplied locker at the guest’s expense. Lockers are located outside the M&M’s Tower and Lafayette Street entrances.

Food and Beverages (as of 10.20.23)

  •  Guests may NOT bring their own food and/or beverages to any Prudential Center event.
  • Guests with specific/special dietary needs due to medical conditions or religious requirements should call Guest Services at (973) 757-6000 or email guestservices@prucenter.comOpens in a new tab. prior to attending the event.

Vegan Options Near Prudential Center

We did a little research looking in the area near the arena to find a few restaurants that would make good places to grab food either before or after the game. This is by no means all the options available, just a couple of spots that stood out to us.

Be sure to check days/hours open when making plans.

Brick City Vegan

915 Broad Street Retail 1, Newark, NJ 07102Opens in a new tab.

Brick City Vegan is located about two blocks southwest of the arena which makes it a super convenient location before or after the game.

The biscuits and the cheesesteak both get tons of love online, so keep both of those in mind if you get a chance to check this place out.

Chipotle Mexican GrillOpens in a new tab.

222 Market St, Newark, NJ 07102Opens in a new tab.

While we tend to keep this section to 100% vegan restaurants, there are a couple of reasons why we added Chipotle here.

First, it’s Ryan’s favorite place to eat so we’re just going to go ahead and admit to some personal bias here. However, it’s also basically across the street from the arena which makes it crazy convenient to grab a bite to eat right before or after the event.

Finally, for better or worse, if you’re with non-vegan friends or family suggesting Chipotle is most often much easier to get everyone in the group on board with. So, there you go, Chipotle for the win!
