Can I Bring Food Into Citi Field?
Looking into just bringing your own food into the ballpark? Here are a few policies at Citi Field that you need to be aware of. We pulled these directly from Citi Field’s Information Guide.
While the Mets do not specifically state that you can bring food into the stadium, they officially do not say you can’t either.
Having said that, we have confirmed from multiple sources that you can bring food into the stadium as long as it’s in a proper bag.
Bag Policy (as of 3.27.25)
- Purses, diaper bags that are not backpack-style, tote, drawstring, fully clear backpack-style bags with no obscured inner pockets, and messenger style bags along with small soft-sided coolers are still permitted — can be no larger than 16”x16”x8”.
Backpacks are not permitted at Citi Field. Exceptions to this policy can be made for bags used for ADA/medical reasons by the Security Supervisor at each entry gate.
All bags and hand-carried items are searched prior to entry. There are no bag check facilities inside Citi Field.
Drink Policy (as of 3.27.25)
- Glass bottles, all metal cans and containers, with the exception of reusable “Swell/Yeti” type metal water bottles (provided they are emptied), and hard-sided coolers are not permitted in Citi Field.
- Guests may bring in one, soft, plastic, factory-sealed water bottle of 20 ounces or less.
- Guests may also bring in one sealed, soft-sided child’s juice box.
- Water bottles and juice boxes may not be frozen.
There is no information regarding bringing food into the ballpark.
*This is not a complete list of all the security policies at Citi Field, just a few we felt were relevant to bringing food and/or beverages into the park.
Best Vegan Options Near Citi Field
You may not be looking to eat at the game, but maybe you want to grab a bite before or after the game. Are there any good places to get vegan food close to Citi Field?
We did our due diligence and we didn’t find anything really close (within walking distance). There are some good places, but they’re a 30-40 minute walk so grab an Uber if that’s a little further than you want to trek.
Bodhi Village
