Vegan Options at Wienerschnitzel (Updated 2024)

Wienerschnitzel Vegan Options

We learned that Wienerschnitzel was testing out veggie dogs that were vegan-friendly from a video by Sweet Simple Vegan and a VeggL user who emailed us so we quickly got to work on finding their vegan options.

Wienerschnitzel is now offering for a limited time their Veggie Dogs, in three varieties, at all locations!

Wienerschnitzel Vegan Options

Hot Dogs

Wienerschnitzel features Field Roast’s Signature Stadium Dog and, as of January 2022, is now available at all locations for a limited time.

This was new for us and may be for you but they put a pickle spear on every hot dog… an entire pickle spear lays on your bun alongside your hot dog.

  • Backyard Veggie Dog. Order with NO cheese … comes with a pickle spear, tomato, ketchup & mustard.
  • Barbeque Veggie Dog. Vegan as-is … comes with bbq sauce, pickle spear & onion
  • Chicago Veggie Dog. Vegan as-is … comes with a pickle spear, tomato, sport peppers, onions, relish, mustard & celery salt.

Vegan Sides

We have reached out to Wienerschnitzel regarding their fries and hash brown po’taters (the only sides that “could be” vegan) regarding their frying oil.

Please ask your location because our understanding is they are fried in an animal-based lard and are therefore not a vegan option.

*
As with any restaurant that is not 100% vegan or does not offer a designated cooking space for their vegan options, cross contamination can occur and fryers/grills may be shared with animal products. You can choose what your level of comfort is with these potential issues.

Our Picks

Ryan & Jen’s Pick: We have never been to a Wienerschnitzel, but now that they have veggie dog options (assuming they keep them on the menu!), I’m looking forward to giving them a shot the next time we run across one.
