Which Flavor Swirls At Dunkin Are Vegan?

Vegan at Dunkin'

With the addition of Dunkin’s Butter Pecan Swirl being added to the menu permanently, as of April 2023, I thought it might be a good idea to go thru each of their flavor swirls and let you know if any are accidentally vegan, which are not and why.

Then I’ll give you a few vegan drink ideas!

Let’s start with a list of all of Dunkin’s Flavor Swirls

…and I’ll include seasonal ones I can think of as well that once were but are no longer on the menu.

  • Butter Pecan Swirl Syrup
  • Caramel Swirl Syrup
  • Coffee Swirl Syrup
  • French Vanilla Swirl Syrup
  • Mocha Swirl Syrup
  • Peppermint Mocha Swirl Syrup
  • Pumpkin Flavored Swirl
  • Peanut Butter Cup Swirl
  • Hazelnut

Which Flavor Swirls are NOT a Vegan Option and Why?

The Butter Pecan Swirl, Caramel Swirl, French Vanilla Swirl, Pumpkin Swirl, Peanut Butter Cup Swirl and Hazelnut all contain condensed nonfat milk.

Be aware though, Dunkin also offers flavor syrup/shots that are not swirls and do not contain dairy. So if you like the taste of caramel, vanilla or hazelnut, you do have the option to order a drink with one of the syrup/shots. We just suggest you let them know you want the shot and NOT the swirl.

Vegan Drink Ideas

To preface, I have no idea what the coffee-flavored swirl syrup tastes like since it’s new and seems to be incorporated in drinks that I cannot modify to attempt to make them vegan so I’ll just be giving you drinks that contain the Mocha Swirl.

Non-Dairy Milks to choose from… oat, almond or coconut. And yes, they still cost extra. (eye roll)

  • Coffee, hot or iced with Mocha Swirl
  • Mocha Swirl Latte, hot or iced with your choice of non-dairy milk
  • Mocha Raspberry Latte, hot or iced. Order with your choice of non-dairy milk.
  • Mocha Swirl Hot Cappuccino with your choice of non-dairy milk
  • Mocha Blueberry Cold Brew. Order with NO cold foam and with your choice of non-dairy milk.

In Conclusion…

You are now aware that Dunkin’ does not have a lot of accidental vegan swirl options. They have had a couple of seasonal ones that were options but typically most of theirs contain an animal-based dairy.

Ryan’s favorite order is an iced coffee with Mocha Swirl and oat milk. I am not much of a chocolate fan but do like a mocha raspberry combo and have tried a Mocha Raspberry Latte with oat milk and it was delicious!
