Vegan Options at Portland, Maine Airport

The Great American Bagel Company (Gate 4/5)

The following should be vegan-friendly but we suggest asking just in case: cinnamon raisin, everything, multigrain, sesame or the baguette.

Then create a Veggie sandwich with cucumber, lettuce, red onion, roasted red peppers, shredded carrots and/or tomatoes. Ask what sauces or dressing would be an option. They should at least have a dijon mustard.

Shipyard Brewing Company (Gate 5)

Shipyard Brewing offers a Hummus Wrap. We have NOT confirmed if this is vegan yet. It comes with roasted red pepper hummus, shredded lettuce, cucumber, tomato and cheese in a flour tortilla. The hummus ‘should’ be ok but we suggest asking about it and if the wrap contains any animal ingredients.

StarbucksOpens in a new tab. (Gate 6/7)

Plenty of coffee drinks & combos you can create with oat, almond, soy or coconut milk. We have a list of Starbucks options broken down by hot & cold drinks plus modifications in our Starbucks Vegan GuideOpens in a new tab..

And don’t forget they have a couple of food options. Look for a bagel (plain, cinnamon raisin or everything–ask if they have peanut butter or guacamole for a topping), oatmeal and they also have plenty of snacks. Check the ingredient lists.

Burger KingOpens in a new tab. (Gate 9)

Burger King is an easy go-to for an Impossible Whopper* (order with NO mayo) and Fries*. Or, if you’re in the airport early, pick up some French Toast Sticks* and Hash Browns*.

* The Impossible Burger and fried items (other than the fries) share a broiler/grill/fryer with animal menu itemsAs with any restaurant that is not 100% vegan or does not offer a designated cooking space for their vegan options, cross-contamination can occur and fryers/grills may be shared with animal products. You can choose what your level of comfort is with these potential issues.
