To be honest, the vegan options at the SAP Center are not what we were expecting from a sports venue in California in 2021. They feel a little… lacking.
On a positive note though, SAP Center is one few sports venues that still allows you to bring your own food to a game. There are some limitations and specifics you need to know which we outline below.
Finally, we looked around the arena to find a couple good places worth trying out before or after the game to get some good vegan food.
Vegan Options at SAP Center
According to the SAP Center’s Alternative Food Option page, here are the vegan options available at the arena:
Classix Stands (Concourse Section 203, 206, 213, 216)
- Garden Salad (No Crouton)
- Fruit Salad
- Roasted Peanuts
Can I Bring Food Into the SAP Center?
Not thrilled with the current vegan options at SAP Center and thinking about bringing your own food into the arena? Before you do, make sure that you’re aware of the following policies at the SAP Center in regards to bringing in your own stuff.
These policies were pulled directly from their Arena FAQs.
Bag Policy (as of 10/13/21)
Guest Food and Beverage (as of 10/13/21)
For Sharks hockey and Family type events such as Disney On Ice, guest may bring in reasonable amounts of food and non-alcoholic beverages for their personal consumption.
For all concerts, WWE, Tennis event, NCAA Basketball and Mixed Martial Arts events, guests are not permitted to bring in any food or beverage.
This does include bottled water. Reusable water bottles that are empty are permitted. These can be filled at the water bottle filling station located at Section 117 on the main concourse.
Vegan Options Near SAP Center
We went looking for a couple good vegan-friendly restaurants close to the arena that would make good places to grab a bite to eat before or after the game.
This isn’t meant to be a complete list of all the available vegan options, just a couple spots that caught our eye.
Good Karma Artisan Ales and Cafe
Amazing looking food, craft beers and organic juices – what more could you ask for as a pre-game or post-game place to go?
Located less than a mile from the arena, it’s almost walking distance, but definitely a quick drive or Uber for sure.
Whole Foods Market
We’ve done dozens of these Stadium and Arena Guides and we’ve never suggested a whole foods as a place to go to get food, but this location just makes sense.
First, it’s less than a 5 minutes walk from the arena to this Whole Foods where you know finding food is not going to be an issue. Then there is the fact that there is a pub with a patio, Floodcraft Brewing Co., located on the first floor.
