After multiple attempts over the last couple of years, a guest services rep with the Gainbridge Fieldhouse as finally contacted us back! (November 2022)
We have updated the guide with the options we have been told but also feel like it is missing general options throughout the stadium. If you are visiting and find out more info, please let us know!
Included in this guide is research on the policies you need to know if you’re thinking of bringing your own food into Gainbridge Fieldhouse as well as a couple vegan-friendly restaurants close by worth checking out.
Vegan Options at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Green Leaf Cart (Section 207)
Please verify your vegan options but we were told this veggie cart typically has a veggie sloppy joe, veggie dog and/or a taco option during Pacers games. The Gainbridge Fieldhouse website states they also have plant-based burgers & sausages.
If you have found any other options, please let us know so that we can share that information with the community here!
Can I Bring Food Into Gainbridge Fieldhouse?
Sometimes it just feels easier to bring your own food to an event. If you’re thinking of bringing your own food to Bankers Life Fieldhouse, here are a few policies you need to become familiar with. We pulled these directly from their A to Z Guide.
Bags / Backpacks (as of 9/29/21)
Backpacks (with the exception of single-compartment drawstring bags that meet the NBA bag-size requirements, or media backpacks that are screened at the media entrance), hard-sided bags and any bag larger than 6″x9”x1.5” will not be allowed.
Discretion is allowed for purses and diaper bags that, while having the appearance of backpacks, generally are sized differently, and have a different purpose.
These are allowed on a case-by-case basis and subject to management approval. All guests entering the Fieldhouse are subject to security screening, visual inspection, and bag inspection conducted by Gainbridge Fieldhouse personnel.
Prohibited Items* (as of 9/29/21)
- Backpacks
- Bags larger than 6″x9″x1.5”
- Cans, bottles, coolers, or other similar containers
- Hard-sided bags
- Outside food or drinks
*This is not a complete list of prohibited items at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, just a few items we felt was relevant to bringing food and/or beverages into the arena.
Vegan Options Near Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Getting a bite to eat before or after the game is one of the best parts of the gameday experience. We did the same ‘due diligence’ we would do for ourselves, looking near the arena to find a couple good vegan-friendly spots.
This is by no means a complete list of vegan restaurants in the area, just two that caught our attention.
Three Carrots Fountain Square
920 Virginia Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46203
We’ve looked through hundreds (maybe thousands) of Google reviews over the past couple years and we’ve found that it’s really hard to maintain a score over 4.5.
But, that’s just what Three Carrots has done with a 4.6 rating over the course of almost a thousand reviews.
They’re located just over a mile southeast of the arena and they serve everything from their vegan versions of American staples like BBQ and mac n cheese to Banh Mi Bowls.
Everyone seems to rave over the seitan which is featured in a few dishes so keep that on your radar if you get a chance to check out Three Carrots.
Yard House
15 W Maryland St, Indianapolis, IN 46204
Yard House isn’t what you’d normally expect as a vegan-friendly recommendation, but here is why we like to recommend Yard House’s on our Arena Guides.
First, like many Yard House’s this one is basically walking distance to and from the arena (about two or three blocks away). Second, they have a really good selection of vegan options on their menu.
Third, Yard House is a very popular sports bar that is easy to get non-vegan friends and family on board with on game day. Win. Win. Win.
Our Yard House Vegan Guide will show you how to order everything vegan at Yard House.
