Capital One Arena Vegan Options 2023 (Washington Wizards & Capitals)

Washington Wizards Vegan

We were able to speak with Capital One Arena guest relations to get all of the vegan options at Capital One Arena. What you’ll quickly find out, like we did, is that there isn’t a whole lot of choices at the arena.

With that in mind, you may think about bringing your own food to the game. But, before you do that, make sure you become familiar with some of the policies that we have listed below.

Finally, we also looked around the area close to the arena to find a couple good vegan-friendly restaurants that you can easily grab food before or after the game.

Vegan Options at Capital One Arena

We acquired these options through direct communication with Capital One Arena guest relations. We still always advise to confirm with the servers at each location to confirm.

Sections 102, 201 and 432

  • Beyond Burgers – However, the bread and sauce are not fully vegan.
  • Fries

Sections 102, 201, 214 and 402

  • Pre-Made Salads
We were also told about a vegetarian quinoa and cauliflower taco located at sections 107 and 432. We were told the items were definitely vegetarian, but we could not get confirmation on whether they are vegan.

(To be honest, I don’t think they know – We advise to check directly with those locations in the arena)

Can I Bring Food Into Capital One Arena?

Thinking about bringing your own food into the arena? Here are some policies at Capital One Arena that you definitely want to be aware of. We pulled these directly from the Capital One Arena website.

Can I Bring In My Own Food and Beverage? (as of 9/21/21)

Capital One Arena does allow one empty water bottle per guest.

Guests with special dietary restrictions may contact the Guest Relations department at coaguestrelations@monumentalsports.com prior to their visit for assistance.

We encourage patrons to visit one of the many restaurant options available in the surrounding area prior to attending an event or visit one of our concession stands offering a variety of food options during an event. Options include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free.

For the most current list of food and beverage offerings at Capital One Arena, please download the Capital One Arena mobile app and do a search via the arena map.

Bags and Backpacks (as of 9/21/21)

Bags, backpacks and purses will not be permitted inside the Arena. Wallet-size clutches no larger than 5” x 7” and medical bags and parenting bags no larger than 14″ x 14″ x 6″ will be permitted.  All bags permitted are subject to security screening.

If you are bringing a medical or parenting bag, please use the entrance on the corner of 6th and F Street.

Vegan Options Near Capital One Arena

We always like getting a bite to eat before or after the game as part of our gameday experience.

So, we research places close to the stadium to find good vegan-friendly spots to try out. We went ahead and did this for Capital One Arena and we’re sharing a couple that caught our attention with you.

PLNT Burger

101 H St SE, Washington, DC 20003

Located only a mile and a half north of the arena is PLNT Burger, a location that is high up on our bucket list to try. This location is right inside the Whole Foods so it should be pretty easy to find.

PLNT Burger is a growing chain with around 10 locations now, mostly in Virginia. We’ve heard their burgers are amazing and can’t wait to try one ourselves. Definitely worth checking out if you get the chance.

HipCityVeg

712 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20001

HipCityVeg is another up and coming vegan chain located primarily in Philadelphia and DC. We got a chance to try HipCityVeg a few times while we were living in Philly.

This particular location is great because it’s basically directly across the street from the arena!

All the burgers we tried were great, sweet potato fries are really good and we both were especially fond of the Banana Whip. If you’ve never had it, banana whip is an ice cream like dessert that uses only bananas and then you can choose various toppings.

If you’ve never tried it, we highly recommend it!
