Is the Dunkin’ Brown Sugar Cream Cold Brew Vegan?

Dunkin Vegan Brown Sugar Cold Brew

Jen and I stopped through Dunkin’ (as we do almost every Saturday morning) and noticed they have a new Brown Sugar Cream Cold Brew. It sounds absolutely amazing so of course, I wanted to know immediately whether this new Cold Brew was vegan.

After a little bit of research, here is the answer:

Ordered as-is, straight off the menu, the new Brown Sugar Cream Cold Brew is not vegan. The Brown Sugar Cold Foam contains both nonfat milk and cream which obviously makes it not vegan.

However, if you want to dive a bit deeper with me, let’s look at the full ingredients of this new drink and whether it can be modified to be “accidentally” vegan-friendly (spoiler alert: it can).

Brown Sugar Cream Cold Brew Ingredients

Here is the full list of ingredients taken from the Dunkin’ Allergen and Ingredient Table:

Cold Brew Coffee: Steeped 100% Arabica Coffee; Brown Sugar Cold Foam: Nonfat Milk, Cream, Brown Sugar (Sugar, Molasses), Cane Sugar, Contains 2% or less of: Soy Lecithin, Natural Flavor, Color Added; Light Cream: Milk, Cream, Disodium Phosphate (Stabilizer), Sodium Citrate (Stabilizer); Brown Sugar Cinnamon Flavored Syrup: Brown Sugar, Water, Invert Sugar, Molasses, Contains 2% or Less of: Natural Flavors, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative); Topping: Sugar, Cinnamon, Cinnamon Oil.

Brown Sugar Cream Cold Brew Modifications

If you’d like to order an “accidentally” vegan-friendly version of this new drink (we call it “accidentally” because Dunkin’ cannot call this a vegan drink due to liabilities and the possibility of cross-contamination), simply order the Brown Sugar Cream Cold Brew with NO Brown Sugar Cold Foam and SUB a Non-Dairy Milk.

Your Non-Dairy Milk Options at Dunkin’ are:

  • Oat
  • Almond
  • Coconut

Other Syrup and Shot Options at Dunkin’

If you’re a little bummed out over not being able to get the complete drink and are curious about your other options, here are some other vegan-friendly syrups and flavor shots at Dunkin’ that you can use to create an iced latte or cold brew.

I will mention though, we tried the Brown Sugar Cream Cold Brew with Oat Milk and NO brown sugar cream. It was very good! Jen mentioned she didn’t realize how good a cold brew could be.

  • Mocha Swirl
  • Chai Tea Flavor
  • Vanilla Flavor
  • Caramel Flavor
  • Toasted Almond Flavor
  • Blueberry Flavor
  • Raspberry Flavor

Vegan-Friendly Food

Finally, if you want to get a vegan-friendly bite to eat, you can do that as well. Here are a few of the options currently available to you. If you want to see a complete list of all the vegan options available at Dunkin’, head over to our Dunkin’ Vegan Guide where we detail how to order everything vegan at Dunkin’.

  • Avocado and Roasted Tomato Toast
  • Hummus and Roasted Tomato Toast
  • Bagels – Plain, Cinnamon Raisin, Everything & Sesame
  • Hash Browns

Final Thoughts

While you can’t order the new Brown Sugar Cream Cold Brew vegan straight off the menu, it does look to be available with a couple of modifications (removing the Brown Sugar Cold Foam and choosing a Non-Dairy Milk). Enjoy!
