Is Dunkin’s NEW Peanut Butter Cup Macchiato Vegan?

Dunkin Peanut Butter Macchiato Vegan

Ask any of our family & friends… anytime, anything peanut butter related is announced, we always perk up a little and have to ask, “IS IT VEGAN?” And today was a double perk because it’s peanut butter AND Dunkin’.

The Big Question…

Is Dunkin’s NEW Peanut Butter Cup Macchiato Vegan?

The Short Answer: No.

The Long Answer: Peanut Butter Cup Swirl is not a new ingredient for Dunkin’– you can find it in their ingredients list. This is; however, the first time they have introduced it as a Macchiato drink. On VeggL’s Dunkin’ Guide, we do mention that all of Dunkin’s “Swirls” (except for the Mocha Swirl) contain dairy. The Peanut Butter Cup Swirl is no exception.

The ingredients for the Peanut Butter Cup Swirl are as follows:

Sweetened Condensed Nonfat Milk (Nonfat Milk, Sugar), High Fructose Corn Syrup, Sugar, Water, Paprika Extract (Color), Natural Flavors, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Salt

With that, Dunkin’ has also created a virtual door at www.dunkindoor.com where you can hold up your mobile device in a space called, “ring the bell.” Once the door opens on your phone, you could instantly win $1000 or a Dunkin’ eGift Card.

What “Spooky” Fall Drinks Would We Get At Dunkin’?

Jen: I’m always going to go for a spice-type drink in the fall so I would order a Hot Chai Latte with an Espresso Shot and Oat Milk (I would not consider this a sweet drink though so ask for added sugar if you need it). I can completely envision myself handing out candy to trick-or-treaters (vegan, of course), drinking my coffee then end the night with a warm-up by our firepit.

The ingredients in a Hot Chai Latte with Oat Milk are as follows:

Oat Milk; Brewed Espresso Coffee; Chai Tea Syrup: Brewed Chai Tea Extract (Filtered Water, Black Tea, Chai Spice), Cane Sugar, Natural Flavors, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate (Preservative).

Ryan: Since Dunkin’s Pumpkin options are not vegan, I would get my usual, which is an Iced Coffee with Oat Milk and a Mocha Swirl.

The ingredients in an Iced Coffee with Oatmilk and a Mocha Swirl are as follows:

Oat Milk; Brewed 100% Arabica Coffee; Mocha Flavored Swirl Syrup: High Fructose Corn Syrup, Sugar, Water, Cocoa processed with alkali, Natural Flavor, Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Citric Acid, Salt; Ice

In Conclusion,

Us Vegans can continue to vote for what we want with our dollar, support vegan options and continue to ask for more. And for selfish reasons, I wish Dunkin’ would use a dairy-free condensed milk in ALL of their swirls so I… I mean WE, all can enjoy a Peanut Butter Swirl Macchiato!
