In alphabetical order, we are sharing with you chain restaurants in the United States where you can order raw vegan at.
For anyone who is not familiar with what being a raw vegan is, it’s simple. A Raw Vegan is someone who chooses to not consume any animal or animal by-products.
That’s the vegan part.
The raw part means they choose to consume anything that is left (fruit, vegetable, nuts, seeds and grains) in their raw, unprocessed form; to be more specific, nothing over the temperature of 118 degrees.
For me, I do not get into the semantics of it. I happen to feel better when eating a majority of my food raw but do not call myself any labels other than vegan.
Before we get to our list, I thought it might be helpful to give tips on how to order raw vegan at any restaurant:
- Look at the online menu ahead of visiting. Or use our vegan guides to narrow down what the vegan options are so you know what vegetables, fruit, nuts & seeds the restaurant offers.
- Call ahead. Ask for a simple plate of fresh raw vegetables.
- Modify a salad already on the menu.
- Request the fresh steamed veggies that are on the menu to be raw.
- Take your own dressing. Guacamole and salsa are always easy go-to’s if the restaurant offers it for a dressing.
- Bring your own food if the restaurant cannot accommodate you. But call ahead and ask if that is ok. In some states, it could violate local health code rules.
“Hey I’m a raw vegan and will be having dinner here with friends. Do you think the chef could accommodate with a really big vegan salad, a side of fruit and some guacamole or a side of avocado?” You could ask for a slice of lemon, balsamic vinegar and/or salt to accompany your food to season it.
And if you want to get even more in-depth, you could ask for ingredient information on their dressings to determine if it would align with you.
VeggL Guide To Ordering Raw Vegan At Chain Restaurants
Each chain location name is clickable and will take you to the complete vegan guide for that restaurant.
Be aware that most of these options are going to be salads; which if you are raw vegan, is not going to come as a surprise. 😉
Always verify that the options we share are available prior to ordering. Menus change. Please let us know if you notice we need to make any updates to this guide!

Outback Steakhouse
Order a Blue Cheese Pecan Chopped Side Salad. Ask if you can get an entree size of this then order with NO Aussie Crunch, dressing or blue cheese. SUB with balsamic vinegar. This salad comes with the most diverse mix which is why we picked it. It comes with mixed greens with shredded carrots, red cabbage, green onions and cinnamon pecans.
We’re not sure how the cinnamon pecans are cooked so you may need to ask for them to be removed as well.
Outback Steakhouse also offers a fresh mix of veggies on their sides menu. Ask for them to but not cooked and with NO butter, oil or seasoning–just to cover your basis.
Panera Bread
At Panera, you have a few raw vegan-friendly menu items.
Their Greek Salad can be ordered with NO feta or dressing. It comes with kalamata olives, red onion, romaine, tomatoes, salt & pepper and pepperoncini. Ask for a lemon slice to squeeze on top.
Panera also has a fruit cup.
P.F. Chang’s

Pita Pit isn’t just for pitas… they also offer salads! They even have a decent amount of raw ingredients for you to add in.
Playa Bowls

Salata
We have been to Salata and really like it! They offer an incredible amount and variety of vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds + sprouts.
Smoothie King
Many smoothies plus a couple of smoothie bowls.
Smoothie King seems to be the smoothie spot that has always been the closest to wherever we have lived so we are big fans. Be aware that they do add turbinado sugar to most of their smoothies so make sure you make those modifications.
Subway
Might be known for their subs, but you can order a salad at Subway. They have lettuce and spinach available for your base and toppings like cucumber, tomato and banana peppers.
Avocado is available for an extra cost and yellow mustard or red wine vinegar could work as a dressing.

Steamed broccoli is on the menu as well. You can ask for it to be served raw. And ask if they have any fresh fruit you could have on the side.
The Cheesecake Factory
The Thai Lettuce Wraps with Grilled Avocado are what I would order here! Ask what grilled means on the avocado because when we tried it it didn’t seem to be “cooked.” SUB the coconut curry noodles with more carrots, cucumber or bean sprouts. Yum!
They also offer green beans, spinach, broccoli and asparagus on their “sides menu.” Ask for any or all of these to be served raw on a plate together…. with some guacamole or even salsa.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe
Tropical Smoothie Cafe has some great raw vegan options! The Avocoolada sounds incredible for a smoothie shop along with their Detox Island Green.
True Food Kitchen
True Food Kitchen is one of our favorite chains in the United States. For raw vegan, you will need to ask for a plate to be made with whatever raw vegetables they can put together.
On the sides menu, they have seasonal vegetables and broccolini but on the main menu, there are items that have other vegetables in them you could ask about.
UNO’s Pizzeria
Ask if they can create a vegan salad for you.
Many of the ingredients in the Italian chopped salad would be good; fresh greens, tomatoes, kalamata olives, banana peppers and red onion but be aware there are NOT vegan ingredients in it as well. So you can’t just order it as-is.
They have strawberries, grapes, blueberries and walnuts in their Berry & Goat Cheese Salad. And then steamed broccoli is on their sides menu. Ask for it to be served raw.
Wendy’s
Order the Southwest Avocado Salad with NO chicken, cheese or bacon and SUB the dressing with salsa. This salad will have a romaine & spring mix, tomatoes and avocado. Apple bites are on the menu as a side.
In Conclusion…
As you can see, we were able to find you raw vegan items at over 30 chain restaurants in the United States. Granted, most of those are salads, smoothies and juices, but isn’t that what raw vegan in its simplicity really is?
Make eating out about being with the people you are with and enjoying the atmosphere.
