We’re pretty familiar with Publix. How familiar? We literally live across the street from one.
We also know that Publix has been adding more and more vegan products to their own GreenWise line of products over the last few years.
GreenWise is Publix’s own in-house Organic line of products. Not all of these products are vegan, but there are plenty of vegan GreenWise products to choose from.
So, exactly which GreenWise products at Publix are vegan? Glad you asked. Here’s all the vegan GreenWise products currently available at Publix.
Note: None of Publix GreenWise products are Certified Vegan. Some products contain enzymes or natural flavors that could possible not be vegan-friendly or products could be processed at a facility that also processes non-vegan products.
Deli
Not Greenwise related but is a vegan option… In September 2022, Publix added a Meatless Turkey Club Sub Wrap to their Deli menu. Our local Publix says it has Unreal Deli Roasted Turkey, Lightlife Smart Bacon, Chao Vegan Cheese, Vegan Ranch Dressing, Lettuce, and Tomato on your choice of wrap.
Some locations may or may not have tofu as an option. This seems to have been common in 2019/2020. We suggest verifying with your location which options they have and verify the items are vegan prior to ordering.
Bakery
We’re going to list items in this article in the order you will most likely come across them if you start in the bakery first and then work your way through the aisles finishing up at the frozen foods section.
In the bakery you’ll find vegan-friendly GreenWise bagels and breads.
Bagels
Four varieties of bagel are vegan:
- Cinnamon Raisin
- Blueberry
- Everything
- Onion
Only the egg bagel (obviously) was not vegan. Also, of note because it was a bit of a surprise to us, the GreenWise English Muffins are not vegan as well (contains milk).
Bread
1 out of the 3 breads were vegan-friendly – the Fruit and Veggie Seeded bread (pictured above). However, the Seeded Wheat Bread & Sprouted Multigrain breads both contained honey.
Bonus: Cake and Cupcakes
I know this article is supposed to be only about Publix GreenWise products and I promise all the rest of the products are, but I couldn’t help but include these vegan cupcakes and vegan cake that are available now at Publix from a company called Just Desserts.
I mean, vegan cupcakes, in the Publix bakery section. How awesome is that?!? And, they’re absolutely delicious!
Look for them in the Publix Bakery freezer.
Breakfast in a Box
Publix has A LOT of vegan options when it comes to Breakfast Bars, Instant Oatmeal and Cold Cereals.
Breakfast Bars
I was actually kind of surprised by just how many vegan-friendly breakfast bar options there were. The bars come in a variety of flavors and textures. Some are more of a fruit bar similar to a Luna Bar, while others are more of a crispy, crunchy style like a Kind Bar.
If you’re a grab-and-go type of person for breakfast, then you’re sure to find a breakfast bar that you’ll enjoy at Publix.
Here are some of the flavors that we found:
- Almond Coconut Bar

- Banana
- Banana Chocolate Chip
- Berry
- Chocolate Cherry
- Dark Chocolate Raisin & Cherry
- Lemon
The biggest thing to look out for is honey, which we found in a couple of bars, but the overwhelming majority were vegan.
Instant Oatmeal
I grew up on Instant Quaker Oatmeal so I have a soft, nostalgic spot in my heart for the Apple Cinnamon and Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeals that come out of a package and can be eaten with nothing more than a little hot water out of the faucet.
Publix doesn’t disappoint here and covers all the favorite flavors:

Publix even has individual serving containers of instant oatmeal. Great to keep stashed at work!
Cereal
Who doesn’t love a bowl of cereal?
Whether it’s for breakfast or an evening snack, Publix has a great selection of cereals to choose from including the all-important Cinnamon Squares which is a really good alternative to that other cereal that is cinnamon flavored and shaped like a square 😉

More Breakfast Aisle Options
There are probably more GreenWise vegan options in the breakfast aisle than any other place in the store. Here are a few more items you’ll find with the oatmeal and cereals.
Granola
I’ve never heard Publix get credit anywhere for their GreenWise Granolas, but they definitely should. They have four different varieties of granola.
I’ve only tried two, the Cinnamon Peanut Butter and Pecan Maple. Both were excellent and based on those two I wouldn’t hesitate giving the other two a try.

Crackers
Four different varieties of crackers to choose from. Personally, my favorite use of crackers is to scoop up hummus and for that purpose I would recommend the Wheat Crackers.

Publix has plenty of pantry staples in their GreenWise line that are vegan-friendly. This includes plenty of canned fruits and veggies as well as a few varieties of canned beans.

Garden Veggie Burger & Black Bean Burger
Publix has two different varieties of GreenWise veggie burgers. A literal Veggie Burger and a Black Bean Burger.
We tried both and while both are good, you’re not going to confuse either one with the best burger you’ve ever had.
Jen and I both gave the nod to the Black Bean Burger as our favorite taste-wise. The Black Bean Burger also has a very slight advantage nutrition-wise as well with just a few less calories and fat and a touch more protein.

Final Thoughts
There is a plethora of GreenWise brand vegan options at Publix and it feels like more items are being added all time.
And these are just the GreenWise brand products. There are also even more vegan items that you’d expect at most grocery stores like Killer Dave’s Bread and Bagels, Plant Based Meats like Beyond and Gardein and Lenny & Larry Cookies.
