50+ Simple Truth Vegan Products at Kroger

Vegan Simple Truth Options at Kroger

Simple Truth is Kroger’s in-house natural and organic brand.  More specifically the Kroger Simple Truth line is free from GMOs, artificial preservatives, and responsibly sourced.

There is also quite a selection of Simple Truth products that are also vegan.

Kroger became our favorite grocery store back when we lived in Richmond and now that we’re in Atlanta, we have Kroger close by again! In this article, we’re going to share with you some of our favorite vegan Simple Truth products (and a few new ones we just discovered) that you can find at Kroger.

Enjoy!

Note: This is not an all-encompassing list of all the Simple Truth Vegan Items at Kroger. Some items like Tofu, Beans, Quinoa, Dried Fruits and many more aren’t listed here. We just picked out some of our favorites!

Chips, Crackers and Vegan Dips

Simple Truth Chips and Dips

Tortilla Chips

Kroger’s Simple Truth Organic Tortilla Chips are some of my favorite tortilla chips of all time. (There’s a reason why I’m starting the list here.)

They’re always super fresh, have a good crunch and just the right amount of salt. They come in White, Yellow and Blue Corn and you can’t go wrong with any of the three. They make a perfect vessel for all the dips that we’re about to talk about in just a second.

Crackers

Dips

Plant Based Queso Style Dip – This. Dip. Is. Amazing. First off, the entire container is only 480 calories, which I only mention because I almost finished off the entire tub in one setting.

To be honest, I only found out Kroger had a Plant Based Queso Dip while I was researching for this article. So, this was the first time I got to try it, but it definitely won’t be the last.

I was expecting the dip to be more creamy than it was, but the consistency is more dense like cream cheese. The flavor though? Unbelievable. Cheesy with a little kick at the end. I don’t know how they make a whose main ingredient is prepared butter beans and oats taste like a queso dip, but kudos to them!

Plant Based French Onion Dip – This is another great dip that I tried for the first time today. It’s not quite as good as the queso dip, in my opinion, but that’s a pretty tall order.

The funny thing is, I noticed that the consistency was pretty much exactly the same as the queso dip, just the flavoring was different. Sure enough, the first two ingredients – prepared buttered beans and oats! It really is amazing what some of these companies are able to create these days.

Cauliflower Dip – Simple Truth’s Plant Based Cauliflower Dip comes in many different varieties. There is Buffalo, Cilantro with Jalapeno, Queso Style and Tzatziki.

Let me start by saying, I’m generally not a fan of products that use Cauliflower as their base. The Cauliflower snack crackers and chips aren’t exactly my jam because the taste of Cauliflower still comes through.

If you’re a fan of Cauliflower, then chances are, you’ll love these dips. With the Buffalo Dip that I got there was a subtle Cauliflower taste on the front end and a really good Buffalo flavor on the back end. I just couldn’t get past that Cauliflower taste.

Hummus – I’m a big fan of Simple Truth hummus because it’s just about the only organic hummus that I can find that doesn’t cost north of five bucks. In fact, I picked up these hummus tubs on sale for $2.99 apiece. The hummus comes in three varieties – Original, Garlic and Roasted Red Pepper.

Mmmm… Lunch

Bread, Bagels and Peanut Butter

Bread

Kroger Simple Truth has multiple varieties of bread that you can choose from. Ancient Grains, 100% Whole Wheat, Sprouted Seeded and 21 Grains & Seeds are just a few of the choices you have.

Most are thin sliced breads which I happen to be a big fan of. The Ancient Grains is my favorite. Has a great taste without overpowering your sandwich like some “healthy” breads have a tendency to do.

Bagels

Simple Truth has two different bagel varieties, Plain and Multi-Seed. The Plain Bagels are my favorite of the two.

Full disclosure, in my opinion, Dave’s Killer Bread, is the best store-bought bagel that you can buy. That’s just my opinion though and I’m not from New York so you may not think highly of my bagel recommendations anyway.

Having said that, while I don’t think these bagels are quite as good as Dave’s, they are much better than store-brand bagels I’ve picked up from other groceries which always seem to be crazy dry and/or flavorless.

If you’re not wanting to drop $5+ dollars on a sleeve of bagels, these Simple Truth bagels are a great choice.

Peanut Butter

More options still when it comes to Peanut Butter. You can go with any combination of regular or crunchy and stir or no-stir.

Plant Based Deli Slices

I’ve had other vegan deli slices before like Tofurky Deli Slices. The Deli Slices from Simple Truth are every bit as good, if not better, than any other plant based Deli Slice I’ve had.

Some Deli Slices, a piece of cheese, a little mustard or Vegenaise and I’m good to go with a quick and super easy lunch.

Nuts!

Simple Truth Nuts
A squirrel’s dream come true.

There is an insane amount of Simple Truth nuts to choose from at Kroger. Cashews, Pecans, Almonds and Mixed Nuts in all different varieties – whole, sliced, crushed, etc.

Our favorites though, are these two flavored kinds of almonds – Pineapple Habanero and Apple Cinnamon. They’re both delicious.

The Pineapple Habanero is the perfect combo of sweet and heat that makes you keep wanting to put your hand back in the bag to grab just one more.

Dairy Free Ice Cream

Simple Truth Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert
I had just bought a pint of ice cream the night before. Held off buying more even though I could have chalked it up to “research purposes”. Good job me.

Did you know Kroger has its own Non-Dairy Ice Cream? I didn’t for a long time and I go to Kroger at least once a week. I get a pint of ice cream about once a month. I guess I’ve gotten used to heading directly to the dairy-free Ben & Jerry’s.

As far as the Simple Truth’s Ice Creams go, they’re good. I’m not gonna lie they’re not Ben & Jerry’s, but they’re good. Considering they’re about half the price as Ben & Jerry’s, they can be a great choice when you’re watching your grocery budget closely.

Kroger’s Simple Truths Ice Cream Flavors include:

  • Chocolate Brownie Swirl
  • Peanut Butter Strawberry
  • Snickerdoodle
  • Mint Chip and Chocolate Creme Cookie
  • Chocolate
  • Vanilla Bean
  • Butter Pecan
  • Almond Caramel

Cereal

“Regular” Cereals

Ok, So I didn’t know what to call the cereal that wasn’t a granola-type cereal. Regardless, Simple Truth has a few different cereals that are replicas of some of the most popular breakfast cereals.

Frosted Flakes, Toasted O’s, Raisin Bran and Bran Flakes all taste like, well, exactly what you would expect them to taste like only maybe a little less sweet.

Granola Cereal

In addition to “regular” cereals (still don’t have a better name) Kroger also has a few granola cereals that you can choose from.

Baobab Coconut, Sweet Nut and Mixed Berry are all vegan. Most people seem to either really like granola cereals or not at all. Personally, I’m a fan of granola cereals and if you are too, you’ll most likely enjoy any of Simple Truth’s versions.

Pasta

Kroger Simple Truth has a plethora (one of my favorite words) of vegan choices when it comes to their pasta and pasta sauces.

Not just vegan either. If you’re looking for gluten-free, whole wheat, chickpea and even red lentil and quinoa pasta. You can also choose from spaghetti, rotini, fusilli and penne. Seriously, there is like 3 entire shelves devoted to Simple Truth pastas at our Kroger.

You can’t have pasta without sauce and Kroger has you covered there as well. My two favorites here are the Plant Based Bolognese and the simple Tomato Basil. Be careful with the pasta sauces and make sure to check the labels – not all the Simple Truth pasta sauces are vegan (Vodka and 4 Cheese contain milk).

Healthy Cold Drinks

If you’re a fan of cold drinks like Cold Pressed Juices and Pro-Biotics Drinks, then you may be surprised to find out that Simple Truth has a sneaky good lineup of healthy cold drinks. They’re also a really good price too, at around $2.99 apiece.

My favorite is the Cocopina Pro Biotic. Not overly sweet, with a subtle coconut flavor. Plus, it’s only 30 calories and 3g of sugar. What’s not to like?

Dairy Free Milk

Oat Milk, Almond Milk, Soy Milk… Sweetened, Unsweetened… Frigerated and Shelf Stable… Original, Vanilla and even Chocolate.

The point is, pretty much whatever type of dairy-free milk is your favorite, chances are there is a Simple Truth version that will fit the bill.

And More…

Plant Based Chocolate Chip Cookies

These remind me of an old-school Chips Ahoy cookie. Very similar in taste and consistency. They come in a box of 6 cookies and I’m still trying to decide how I feel about that. Part of me definitely wants cookies in the box, but part of me is glad that I can’t tear through a whole sleeve of cookies and then feel awful about it almost immediately.

Either way, the cookies are pretty good and go great with a glass of Oat Milk. (which luckily you can get from Simple Truth as well!)

Final Thoughts

Kroger Simple Truth continues to expand its line of vegan and organic products. Almost all of them taste great and are very reasonably priced.

So, if you’ve not given Kroger a try lately, we strongly encourage you to go check out everything they have available!

Finally, if you enjoyed this review of all the vegan Simple Truth products at Kroger, we did the same thing by finding all the Vegan Options at Aldi.
